Time to sit in silence, blessed silence. Allow my spirit to let peace and tranquility dwell within me.
My imagination wanders the pathways of my mind, open to hearing God’s whispers.

The word Love comes floating in. What do I do with that? Send my special angel out to touch the souls of every person I love, whether family, friends, acquaintances, or strangers I meet along the way.

Life is so much more beautiful when we love others, even strangers, whatever their race, creed, culture, or any difference from ourselves. We are all children of God.

Silence

This I wrote in April 2004. I was apparently deeply touched by something…Silence?  I love this work of art by Michael Cox.

Blue Moon by Michael Cox

Silence is quiet
It speaks…
Nothing
Emptiness
Solitude
Peace or pain

Silence is loud
It screams…
Volumes
Thoughts unspoken
Real or unreal
Truth or untruth

Silence is not always golden
Silence can be a black hole
Silence may be more painful
Than the words of truth

Peace in the Garden by ann marquette

In a time and place of silence
I see the faces and shapes of you
Yet, never a word is spoken
But I see your silent smiles

I hear the birds more profoundly
The sounds of leaves falling
Of tree limbs crackling
I see your silent smiles

I am surrounded by nature
Twenty acres of God’s landscape
Wooded hillsides along the river
I hear the squirrels scamper through the trees
I see your silent smiles

I hear the distant sounds
Of life outside this place
The motor cars, motorcycles, motorboats
I wish them all away
But glad for your silent smiles

I am here with all of you
Within our own silence
Waiting, waiting, and listening
To hear the voice of God
As we see our silent smiles

Yet in this beautiful quiet time
I see your silent smiles
And hear the gates of your hearts open
To the message God has for you
Blessed be the silent smiles…

I am reposting this as today’s post by Aspire, Motivate, Succeed! blogger “Listen to Someone”  http://amsdaily.net/2012/03/26/take-the-opportunity-listen-to-someone/
touched me and reminded me of a piece I wrote a few years ago.

wooden sailing boat Kleine Freiheit - 70 year ...

Image via Wikipedia

I wrote this the Summer of 1992

He sits there for a while, watching her at rest.
She is so beautiful…tall and sleek, with curves
in just the right places. She excites him so,
when she runs with the wind. And when she
takes him dancing gracefully through the soft
breezes he is at peace with the world, and himself.

There are times when he has to go long periods
without her. He lives for the hours he can spend
with her. He works to support her because of the
joy she gives him. He takes care of her with
gentle affection. She is the only love he wants in
his life. She never asks for anything, never nags,
never frightens him with feelings of love expressed.
She doesn’t have a heart that breaks.

They never go home together after spending time
together. They never walk, hand in hand, never
share a meal, an evening by the fire, a swing on
the porch, the day’s frustrations or joys, a kiss
or a hug. They cannot fall asleep in each others
arms, nor wake to a good morning kiss.

As much as she means to him, she is after all…
only a sailboat…no flesh and blood. No caring heart
ready to be beside him always…loving him in return.

Together

It is cold and desolate in this silent place
All alone in the moonlight

The stars are too far away in time and space
I cry out but no one hears, no one sees me
I’m all alone in the moonlight

I see your face as I see the moon ~
Clear and bright, then veiled by thin wisps of cloud,
And not at all when hidden behind dense clouds,
and then…You appear again clear and bright
For a few brief moments it feels warm and special,
In this silent place
Yet I am still alone in the moonlight.

Somewhere across space and time
We have met very long ago
Long before we found each other
And in this space and time
For a few brief moments,
I was not alone in the moonlight.

A special connection created an everlasting bond
And yet, as quickly we found each other, we had to part.
I am again alone in the moonlight.

Who Is There photo by Ann Marquette

Through the leaves
over the wall
behind the curtains
Who is There?

I love this picture. I sense a beauty beyond.
