BELIEVE

Believe by Ann Marquette

It is time to call it quits with social media and will deactivate my FB account Saturday night (4 days from now).  I will begin the New Year with A Blank Slate” for a clean heart, clear mind, and open spirit.

I give it all to you, Lord Jesus
This mind
This soul
This heart
The spirit within
I am letting go

Letting it all go
All the muddled thoughts
All the mixed emotions
All the confused feelings
Too much, too many
Have scarred the very essence
Of this being

I give to you
This empty vessel
This blank slate
For you to make it new
For you to fill it up
Fill it to overflowing
With Your goodness
Your grace
Your light
Your love

Write what you will
On this blank slate
That is me
Waiting to be cleansed
And renewed
With Your Spirit, Lord Jesus

It is a new year ~ 2014, and as usual I go through a time of remembering people who have come into my life in the previous year, become closer as friends, or others as we have drifted  apart.  And, as I recently moved and going through boxes which had been packed for several years I find things I forgot I had.  Being in a new place and no furniture to speak of it is a good time to let go of many things, either donate to Goodwill, give to family or friends, or toss:-)

So as I am “letting go” again, I do so with love, peace and joy.
It opens space for the gift of something or someone new.

Below is the piece I wrote some years ago.

~~~~~~~~~~
One of the most painful things we have to do in our lives is Letting Go. Sometimes it is Letting Go of things…material things which mean a lot to us, even if only sentimental value. It may mean Letting Go of feelings. When we hold sadness inside, and try to mask it with only a show of happiness, it is better to let it go, to feel the sadness so it washes through us. A good cry can be cleansing. Sometimes, we have to let go of someone we care for very deeply when we realize that person does not care for us in the same way. Maybe it is best to leave them remembering us with whatever kind of feeling they may have for us, if any at all. It may not be possible to hide our own deeper feelings for that person, which could make their life uncomfortable. Letting Go may be the best gift we can give them because they may realize how we feel, yet care enough not to want to hurt us. Even when we know a relationship is not right, on both sides, or one person has a doubt about it, it is hard to let go of something that seems secure. We often accept less than the best because we can’t bear to let go. There are occasions when we feel something wonderful for someone, but we don’t express it for fear of being rejected. Sometimes our feelings will be rejected. Yet, what if we withhold it from the one person who could very well be that One Special Someone in our lives and they too have been afraid to express their true feelings, or don’t even realize their true feelings yet! How sad that we may miss The Best for fear of Letting Go of the expression of those feelings. Whatever the reason, or situation, it is never easy Letting Go. ©March 1994
The first words I think of are pride, fear, hurt, anger, lack of courage.  Either one or more could be reason(s) for anyone to find it hard to forgive.  It is especially hard to forgive someone face to face.  Whether we do it in person, by letter, or deep within our heart,  it is important to forgive, not for the other person’s sake, but for our own.  It is important that we forgive with love in our heart, and once we do then we must also LET GO of any and all negative feelings about the issue.  It is amazing how free and peaceful it is after forgiving and Letting Go ~~
Time For Letting Go
by Ann Marquette
Anytime is a great time to give this gift, not only to the other person(s), but also to ourselves. Time for healing.
One of the most painful things we have to do in our lives is Letting Go.
Sometimes it is Letting Go of things…material things which mean a lot to us, because of sentimental value.
It may mean Letting Go of feelings. When we hold sadness inside, and try to mask it with only a show of happiness, it is better to feel the sadness so it washes through us then Let it Go. A good cry can be cleansing.
One of the best things to do in our lives is Letting Go of anger and hurt caused by others. We need to find it in our hearts to forgive lovingly. The anger and hurt we hold inside only poisons us, and causes us to allow that person or persons to control our feelings. I have heard of people who have been hurt far worse than I could ever imagine, yet they found it in their hearts to forgive, with love, and let go. They found freedom within that allowed them to soar like an eagle. I have found peace by forgiving others who have hurt me, and I pray they have found peace within themselves.
Sometimes, we have to let go of someone we care for very deeply when we realize that person does not care for us in the same way. Maybe it is best to leave them remembering us with whatever kind of feeling they do have for us. It may not be possible to hide our own deeper feelings for that person, which could make their life uncomfortable. Letting Go may be the best gift we can give them because they may realize how we feel, yet care enough not to want to hurt us.
Even when we know a relationship is not right, on both sides, or one person has a doubt about it, it is hard to let go of something that seems secure. We often accept less than the best because we can’t bear to let go.
There are occasions when we feel something wonderful for someone, but we don’t express it for fear of being rejected. Sometimes our feelings will be rejected. Yet, what if we withhold it from the one person who could very well be that One Special Someone in our lives and they too have been afraid to express their true feelings, or don’t even realize their true feelings yet! How sad that we may miss The Best for fear of Letting Go of the expression of those feelings.
Whatever the reason, or situation, it is never easy Letting Go.
In some of my readings and musings today, my thoughts turned to experiences in my life and lessons learned.
I started jotting down my thoughts, and as I did, I realized that with each one the word BELIEVE came to mind.
 Letting go of control…BELIEVE
 Remembering some of the most amazing surprises in my life, which were beyond my wildest imaginings and still amaze me today…BELIEVE FOR MORE
 Allowing others to help me, and sometimes remembering to let them know how they can help me. Then Let Go and Let God guide the process…BELIEVE those who are meant to help will and in the right way.
 BELIEVE in the dreams of m heart, the ones that never let go.
 BELIEVE in myself that I can accomplish what needs to be done to follow the path to my dreams becoming reality.
Whenever I feel concerned about what is happening in our country and how it is affecting me, I remember my blessings and all I have to be grateful for. I also remember the other tough times in my life which I have come through, and the many wonderful surprises I have experienced. I know I am a child of God and that He loves me unconditionally, and all is well. What brings me extra joy is hearing good things happening for others, whether getting a job, their health getting better, among other things. I have been hearing good things since the beginning of the year. So no matter what there is hope for better times ahead.
WordPress bloggers were presented a challenge at the beginning of the year to Post A Day/Post A Week…our choice. On Sunday, May 1st they congratulated us on completing 33% of this year’s challenge. Then they suggested “To celebrate being thirty-three percent done with Post a Day/Post a Week, share your top three favorite posts that you’ve published since starting the challenge.”
This was a great idea as it gives us the opportunity to look back at what we wrote and put out there for the world to read. It is a chance to review which may be our personal favorites, share them again with you, and hope that some of them made you smile or laugh, maybe shed a tear, encouraged or inspired you. Maybe even one made your Heart Smile.
I have gone through many of my posts to try to figure out which three are my favorites. I suspect there are more than the four I found which are special to me, and tried to cut it down to three!! I couldn’t decide which one to cut so I link all four here.
I don’t have one particular theme  I write about. Also my blog is a mixed bag of poetry, personal photography, short articles, musings, etc. I hope you like being surprised by what I will post next and that you enjoy them.
These are in no particular order. Of course, this first one seems appropriate.
