Heart

You opened your arms to welcome me
You spoke as to a friend
You smiled as we passed
Your heart whispered,
As it flowed alongside mine
“Come Home”

Your charm and beauty inspire me
Your soul reaches out and touches me
Your spirit fills me with endless possibilities, and
Calls Me Home

You wrap me in a warm embrace,
As if a long parted lover
You fill me with joy and comfort
A sense deep inside, that you are
Calling Me Home.

Love of My Life

Love of My Life (Photo credit: Crismatos ♥ Seize the day)

This was written in 2004

Oh my Love
I feel you
Almost
Here with me

My soul, my spirit, & I
Can barely contain ourselves
We long to run to you
We feel the warm glow within

We see you, glowing
Thinking of me
Your eyes shine
A most radiant smile
Deep within you

Oh Love of my Life
I know you
You know me
We have waited so long

It is almost time
And very soon
We will be
In each others arms

Joy beyond words
Together forever
Oh Love of My Life.

Yellow tulip Русский: Желтый тюльпан

Yellow tulip (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

A few days ago I posted that I would be away, at least for a while.  I needed time alone, frequently in the dark, time to reflect on a recent issue that came up and my life in general.

At one point, a light came on in my mind and spirit.  I realized that the issue, bad as it was, that I was learning a lesson mostly unrelated to the issue.  It strengthened my reserve to be more disciplined and focused, to organize my time better in order to accomplish not just the daily things, but especially to do what God has been telling me to do…WRITE 🙂

I found a book in Barnes & Noble the other day titled “anything” by jennie allen (yes she spells it all with lower case).  It is about her journey and “the prayer that unlocked my God and my Soul.”   Although her website says it will be in stores Spring 2012, well it is Spring and it is in the stores.  http://jennieallen.com/projects/anything I also recommend you watch the 3 minute video clip on her site.

So, one afternoon I went to Starbucks, got a Grande coffee, and set out in the sunshine while I read and made notes as I remembered parts of my own life.

I will always be learning lessons, and aiming to be better…as a person, a friend, sister, volunteer, writer, blogger, in whatever capacity I am in this life, and mostly as one of God’s children.

I thank all of you who replied to my last post on April 10th with all your kind thoughts and encouragement.  YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

I am so grateful for these times which make me look at my life, to know my faults and learn from them, to know that no matter how imperfect I am God loves me and sends others in my life who lift me up with their love and encouragement.

Tulips are common in urban landscaping, as see...

It has been a strange few days.  Up and down, upside down, right side up, around and around, sad moments, happy moments.

Empty paths I walk through my mind, looking for something!  The quiet paths are actually peaceful, replacing the whirlwind of thoughts which have been crisscrossing the miles I go…in my mind.

Loving the cooler days, the sunshine, the peace and quiet while I give thanks for my blessings.

I wish you all much peace and joy; and endless love.

Interesting that today the WordPress topic suggestion is “Describe the perfect Sunday.”  I wrote this piece awhile back and reposting it here.  Enjoy…

My perfect Sunday would be…

A Peaceful Place by Ann Marquette

In the early morning as the sun peaks over the horizon I am sitting, either quietly with my Love on the large swing and rocking chair back porch looking out over a magical landscape with a cup of coffee. We listen to the sound of silence mingled with the occasional sound of nature which surrounds us. We thank God for this day, and all our blessings. What a beautiful morning.

After a light breakfast we take a long walk along the river. About half way we stop and sit in the swing under the big oak tree along the river’s edge. We hold hands as we listen to the water gently flowing over the rocks, and watch the people with their children and dogs enjoying the lovely day out. We talk about our latest creative projects, but mostly we just enjoy being together.
Eventually we let someone else enjoy the swing as we ramble on our way. Before returning home we stop at a lovely, quaint restaurant for some lunch.

Back home I settle in to do some writing while my imagination is bursting through the walls of my heart, and my Love catches up on some reading.

At some point I can smell something wonderful coming from the kitchen. My sweetheart had quietly gotten up and gone in to start one of his amazing creations for our dinner. He brings me a glass of wine, which he hands me after a gentle kiss. My heart skips a beat, or two, and my spirit jumps for joy. I smile and tell him thank you with kiss.

I finish what I am writing and join him in the kitchen where we talk while he finishes preparing our dinner. We have a lovely little table out back in a section of our magical landscape where we dine, on lovely nights like this with a couple of candles. It is so peaceful and beautiful. The dinner is so delicious, I can taste the love gone into the preparation.

To be with my love, the one God sent me, that special someone beyond anyone I could imagine; the one I love more than I could ever believe I could love someone makes my everyday perfect…not just my Sundays.

Autumn Tree in Northern California

Image via Wikipedia

Ah yes…the weather?

I wake just before the dawn.  Put on my slippers and robe.  I prepare a big mug of coffee.  I step outside the door…and it is a perfect cool morning.  The sun is not up yet, but I can see a clear sky.  It is so wonderful to enjoy the first cup of coffee and watching the day wake as the light comes up over the horizon.

My perfect all day weather is a clear, crisp, bright Fall day.  The leaves are changing colors, under a beautiful sunny sky with the occasional fluffy white clouds.  I take camera and go for a long leisurely drive, stopping wherever inspired to do so.

A perfect Autumn day…

I am taking up the suggestion by huffygirl aka Donna through our comments, and many others on her post today – The Group of Four http://huffygirl.wordpress.com/2011/03/30/the-group-of-four/  .
She begins by saying “we need readers,” how important it is to have loyal readers.

This is so true and especially important to newbie bloggers. We write because we love to, we have something to say, something to share and we hope you will love what we post…or at least LIKE it and click that LIKE button.

Of course, we really appreciate the COMMENTS which in many cases become a dialogue between two or more readers with the author of the blog post. There is much to learn as a new blogger and it helps to hear from other bloggers who often become teachers through our online dialogue via comments.

Those of us new to the blog world hope to interest readers, and hold their interest so they will not only come back frequently, but will become SUBSCRIBERS to receive notice of all new posts.
We dream of huge numbers of READERS, COMMENTS, and SUBSCRIBERS in hopes that one day one of our posts will featured on FRESHLY PRESSED.

The other side of the coin is that although we want lots of readers, we also enjoy reading other bloggers’ posts. We like to subscribe to most of them. However, we find that we get so many to read, we can’t read them all, and sometimes after reading we don’t have time to comment on everything. Like everyone else we have other things in our lives which keep us busy outside of our blogging life. One reminder in the comments under huffygirl’s/Donna’s Group of Four blog is we can at least hit the LIKE button which lets the blogger know we stopped by and read their post.

Bloggers and non-blogger readers do join in on this discussion. Would love to hear from you.
