Today I went with a friend to the Wild Edibles Workshop & Wild Edibles Walk at the Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center. Over 30 attended and they were a most enjoyable group.
The only wild animal I ALMOST got a photo of was the backside of a hawk in its nest high up in a big tree.

Edibles? As in “can be eaten?” I don’t get it…
Is there a restaurant there and you have breakfast/lunch and watch wild life?
Or is it a metaphor for “Chew on this wildlife habitat?”

It was about plants and their parts which yes, can be eaten, or some which can be used to make teas. He told how different things tasted. He (the forest ranger) also told us what was poisonous.
The purpose of the event “To learn about the historical uses of wild plants for food and medicine !”
No restaurant. The old lodge is used for teaching about the environment, but it does have a kitchen. The Forest Ranger prepared some breakfast foods and put them out for us to choose what we wanted. There was also coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, water for us to drink our choice.
We had to bring out own lunches (brown bag or whatever).

How nice, anyway, you helped remind me I had a somewhat nature story…more of a bird story.
